Welcome to

Twin Oaks Farm Learning Center, Inc.

  • We believe that in order for a child to grow to reach their fullest potential emotionally, intellectually, socially, and physically, they must have a well-balanced program. The director, parents and staff organize our enriched environment in accordance with those theorists and recent studies that teach the importance of active learning and invention. The core of our curriculum is the emphasis on several experiences: Active learning, language, experiencing and representing, classification, serration, numbers, spatial relations, conflict resolution, and sense of will being, pride and happiness. Following a Reggio Emilia approach the children learn firsthand through experiences on our farm, and nature trails and gardens.
  • The teaching methods used for implementing this environment are: providing a secure and predictable environment, supporting choices and decision making by the children, and helping children to problem-solve by doing things themselves. Loving attitudes and nurturing approaches by the staff give children a sense of trust and wellbeing. The classrooms offer every form of exploration throughout the day in areas of art, math science, music, construction, self-expression, theater arts, cooking, and self-help skills.

  • Twin Oaks Farm was created in 1991 and came about from a desire to give children a memory-filled childhood. A childhood that would be filled the love of learning through the experiences we offer. We believe that our Center reflects the way of life all parents want for their children. Our Parent/Teacher interactions give us parental input to maintain on track with parental issues and desires.  Parents are one of our most valuable assets.  With such “A Better Beginning” the children will acquire skills and confidence that will serve them for the rest of their lives.

Gross-motor skills are strengthened through a well-equipped, large country play yard, used through the year (weather permitting).  Walks along our nature trails put the children in contact with different habitats, ready for their curious eyes, helping with the flower garden, vegetable garden and farm chores gives them a sense of importance and "A BETTER BEGINNING" that every child deserves.

Our toddler room of nine give children their first social interaction in an enriched environment. Through interaction with their environment and redirection in conflict moments, they are guided along their Toddler journey.

Our hands-on learning experiences help them interact with their feeling, other students and self expression. Our Art, music, cooking ,math, reading, Audubon and extensive STEAM programs give Twin Oaks Farm children the "Like of Learning" that they carry with them throughout the academic career.

Kindergarten

Our small class size affords the students more of a Teachers support. Reading, writing, math computations and advanced STEAM curriculum have Twin Oaks Farm Children more prepared socially, more advanced academically, and more confident, when entering the public school system.
